POSITION PURPOSE AND EXPECTATION: The Jewelry Assistant Buyer & Product Developer will be responsible for:
SAMPLE MANAGEMENT
Manage all incoming samples, with a high-level organization and ownership.
Weekly tracking of development samples by range to ensure they will arrive on time for Final Sign Off
RANGE PLANNERS & SIGN OFFS
Build & Maintain Range Planners throughout the range building process to ensure all information is accurate for Final Sign Off
Preparing samples for Final Sign Offs
APPROVAL SAMPLES
Weekly tracking of approval samples by range in accordance with the critical path, ensuring all key deadlines are met for on time delivery
Provide weekly update of approval sample status by range to your Senior Buyer
Checking approval samples as they arrive: correct color, detail and Identifying potential QC issues
RANGE PERFORMANCE
Run and review sales reports weekly as instructed by the Senior Buyer
Run weekly line sheets as instructed by the Senior Buyer
Prepare samples for weekly sales meetings
SPEC SHEETS & COMPETITOR ANALYSIS
Preparing Spec Sheets, as instructed, as and when requested by your Senior Buyer
Preparing Comp Shop, Trend and Pricing reports as instructed, as and when requested by your Senior Buyer
SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS
Respond to supplier correspondence professionally and within 24 hours
Other Skills, Knowledge and Personal Qualities required:
Strong open and honest communication skills with a teamwork mindset
Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel & Outlook, and developed skills on Futura (preferred)
Adaptability and flexibility in an ever-changing environment
Desire to understand the strategic direction of the business and grow within the team
The ability to anticipate what may be required as well as problem-solving ability
Ability to work autonomously and work to deadlines set
1-2 years of experience in a similar role is highly regarded
